Small article in the free "Metro" newspaper this morning mentioned Galtur and Ischgl and super-rish skiiers getting helicoptered out of the resorts!! At £4k a time, as reported, they'd have to be super-rich!!

Completely agree with the OP, I have, in the past, been on a number of forums and found some people to be obnoxious and somewhat unhelpsul or derogatory, particularly when I was new to skiing and had questions that they might have seen dozens of times before in the past. But is that any reason to mock or belittle a newbie??
Cheers to all forumites, always made to feel welcome here and hope I reciprocate this to anyone I come across :-) |

It's a bit like a shed...can't remember seeing one but other posters may have spotted one and I stand to be corrected!!

Alpe D'Huez and Les Deux Alpes are a couple of hours transfer, both decent sized resorts. Google a company called "Ben's Bus", I know they do shuttle transfers to LDA, they may do other resorts too.

Good brekkie, chocolate in my bag to snack on, baguette for lunch, good meal in the evening. Keeping your blood sugar level constant is the way to avoid peaks and roughs of energy.

I have Reynauds where your extremities lose circulation easily and my fingers go white and "dead", I find that a combination of decent gloves plus liners help. I am trying mittens for the first time this year so will see how I get on with those!!

Don't nip during skiing but my guilty pleasure is knocking off skiing about 3pm and heading to a favourite bar for a gluhwein or 3
