Private Lessons Val D'Isere
Started by User in France, 3 Replies
Hi Paul, I used BASS for private lessons last year - I did, in fact, book a small group lesson, but was the only person who had booked those days, so they made me an offer of, I think, 2 x 2 hour private lessons instead of the 3 x 2 group lessons I had booked, from memory.

Really excellent tutor, young-ish Scottish fella, I was very overly cautious and had lost my mojo, he worked wonders with me! Very supportive and helpful.

The whole booking and admin process was great too, highly recommend them.
Chalets

I think the shared loo thing is okay if you are a lrage group and booking out the whole of the chalet, but for just the two of you sharing with other guests you don't know, defo en suite.

As Andyhull says, most are ensuite now, though still some shared facilities around, you've just got to do your homework and really look at the room descriptions before you book.

I had private lessons via british Alpine Ski School (BASS) with a really nice Scottish chap, he boosted my confidence no end and ironed out my bad points (of which there were many!!).
Free Lift Passes

It's only a one day pass, don't get excited...we are going to the Manchester show, went to London a few years ago and figured as Manchester is on our doorstep, we'd give it another try.

Bought the tickets a few weeks ago, got an email today offering us the chance to upgrade our tickets for free to take advantage of the free lift pass. Curiosity got the better of me, and I had a look.

Had a look at Aosta Valley, as was first on the list, you have to hand in a voucher at the show to get another voucher to take to the lift pass kisok in resort to get 6 days for the price of 5 - phew!! I guess all other resorts it is on offer for will be the same.

Not that it was something we were looking for, but I just had a look to see what it was all about.

It was between there and La Plagne after we decided on France again - and that wasn't an easy task!! Gone for the Petit Prince hotel, a Langley property, looks very swish!!

So - after doing our usual summer routine of trawling through the brochures, we have finally decided on Alpe d'Huez for our January trip - booked it this weekend - woohoo!!

Anybody else booked yet?

Can't wait for the shops to get all the new season gear in, gives us something to do on a Sunday afternoon!!

Oh, and anyone got any hints or tips for ADH?
I went with the British school in VDI in January, had 2 x 3 hour private lessons and did more in those days than I would have done in a whole week's worth of group lessons. Needed to iron out some problems and confidence issues and I know I would have come away at the end of the week after having hd group lessons still feeling like my issues were unresolved.

Can't praise them highly enough, had a Scottish lad by the name of Lauder as my instrucitr, very supportive and encouraging. The contact from the school both before the holiday and the day after we arrived was great too.
