I would recommend waiting until end of Feb beginning of March to book (Even later if you dare) that way you can 'follow the snow' as they say.

I went to Serre Chev the last weekend of the season three years ago we had three amazing powder days and the rest were blue bird. Probably one on the best ski holidays I have ever had. Its really hit and miss, if we have a season like last year you may be turning it in to more of a sun holiday then a ski one.
Let's get this season started!

Its looking good for Friday the 2nd guys and girls, could this be the start of what we are all longing for?

Also Scotland have started with a nice light covering which is nice to see.
Why do you love to ski?

I agree that there is nothing that really compares to how you feel when your flying down the mountain side, just thinking about it brings a huge grin across my face. When I talk to friends about skiing/snowboarding to try and get them interested it's really hard to give an explanation that will do it justice.

I have always been more of a winter fan for as far back as I can remember. Don't get me wrong I like a nice relaxing summer holiday but given the choice of the two it would be snow all the way.

Whilst getting the train in to central London this morning it was really foggy, so much so that as I walked over tower bridge I could not see the south bank from the north. Reminded me of those moments as you rise up the chair lift in heavy snowfall, it's all foggy and silent apart from the noise of the chair passing the support columns. I love that feeling of isolation and silence. It makes for a welcome change of lifestyle from the normal hustle and bustle of a city centre, in fact its one of the main reasons I love snowboarding so much.

So my question to you is, apart from our love for the sport why else do you love to ski/snowboard?

I tend to wear one of those sports tops which are skin tight (Long sleeve) then a t-shirt or vest over the top depending on how cold it is then jacket. To be honest Its never that cold until you sit on the lift with the wind blowing in your face and you cant move, you just have to zip the vents up and pull the scarf over your mouth and sit shivering until the top.

It can happen, last year record snow fall !
Whistler not snow sure

Didn't they end up stock piling loads of snow on the glacier then grooming it down with the cat's?? I remember it being classed as a bad patch for them in terms of snow fall. However whistler village is well known for being slushy.
