Ok so it turns out that our weather is dictated by our western counterparts. I would have thought that we relied on Scandinavian cold weather blown down?
So far everything that has been circulating on the web has been wrong, I read so many articles about how the UK was going to suffer from heavy snowfall from October through to January. Is it so much to ask that we have nice warm summers and cold snowy winters? It makes the thought of moving to Canada tempting. |

We have all heard about the weather patterns called La Nina and El Nino which affect the Pacific Region, these deliver devastating unpredictable weather patterns to areas. Last year we saw resorts such as Mammoth receive a double figure in feet of snow over three days.
My question is as follows: These weather patterns have only been recognised from the 80's as far as I understand. Do we have any specific weather patterns which effect Europe, if so what are they called (If named)? |

If your gym has a power plate machine these are fantastic for replicating skiing conditions. Just set it on high and get your squat on.

I have the movie, purchased it from itunes in HD. It is simply one of the best films I have ever seen. Its not your normal snowboarding film, its more like a documentary. I would highly recommend to any winter sports lover.

Agreed, temps will drop then the heavens will open. The next thing will be a thread about to much snow. Honest I saw it in a dream ? |

Youtube video should give you a starting point for home made snow.

Yeh I tend to do the same with my iphone/ipad, keeps the costs down.
I'm guessing that these forecast apps wont start updating until December possibly once the majority of resorts open. But I would of thought that they take there information from sites such at this one. Very annoying as I like to keep an eye on all the resorts I have been to (Sad I know). |

Water fired through compressed air. That's why you see massive man made lakes/ponds half way up the mountains. If you go in the summer you will no doubt see pipe networks laid about running from said lake/pond to the cannons. You can actually make them at home with a compressor from a DIY store and the jet wash you use to clean the car. |
