Accommodation in Alpe d'Huez

I went for the second time last season and stayed in this hotel:

Location was fantastic, 2 min walk to lifts and ski hire shop if you need it. Supermarket within 5 min walk. The only downside was that it is in a quiet part to town so to get to the bars etc was about a 15 min walk, which seems a lot longer when its -10C
Celebrities in your hotel?

Once saw 7 times Mr Olympia Arnold Schwarzenegger in Whistler (about 7 years ago). Granted it was only a celeb spot as he has a chalet which sits under the main Whistler gondola, he was leaving the house as I was going over.
Sunglasses V's Goggles

Im a goggle man, although as previously mentioned on a blue bird day its a nightmare dropping in to shade. I have a few different lenses for mine which i swap out in a morning based on the days forecast. Obviously the only way to cater for all events is to take all the lenses but it doesn't bother me that much.
Ski tracks is the best i have used. The only issue i found was that all the guys in our group had it meaning a competition started to see who could break 50mph, then once that broke it was who could go fastest. Every 0.1mph counts.

Shes not the one in that case

Its a fair point - my wife would ditch the summer hol before the winter one if it came to it

That's the best thing about her, she is not keen on winter sports (she can ski but would rather be somewhere nice and warm) but this means that my winter holidays are with the 'Lads' meaning no hanging about in a morning, up and out all day with a few beers on a night.
