Thanks Ally we live in Lancashire so have not had the same probs as in Cumbria. Been up today when the flooding has receded a lot and it is still pretty dreadful. Some poor people up there have lost far more than we have :(
Anyone come across any deals?

Good deal - most accomodation in St Sorlin is fairly new and it is better to stay there than St Jean where we stayed one year. The skiing is good for families and the access best from St Sorlin to the Seybelles area. We used to drive there. Nightlife fairly limited when we went 4 or 5 years ago but with kids that does not usually matter. Enjoy :D

I will be sorting out my boat which unlike the other ones damaged on Windermere which have sunk, mine ended up stuck on top of a jetty with three posts stuck into her hull

You are right NielToo - it does read 70% but the very fact there is a warning worries you when it really is not too bad. Snow cannot stick to a 70 degree slope I was told by my son - think of church spires...

Enjoy your skiing trip

Pre Christmas 5 day break for 2 = Apt £540, Flights £240 inc skis & luggage, Car Hire £120, Ski Passes Euro 432 - just under £1330 so a bit over the £500 mark

Thats before I have worked out Half Term & Easter....

Going skiing again - priceless
The drive is about an hour and 20 minutes and if you can fill the car probably cheaper than Altibus. The roads are usually ok but if you do get a dump on the day you will need snow chains to get up. Altibus do travel on Sundays. You change at Moutiers.

Secondly, write a packing list, store it on your computer. When you come back, call up the list, and delete anything you didn't wear.

I have to admit thats the work of a genius.

Thank you T. It's my engineering training.

What have I got to show for a lifetimes work? Two patents, and the ability to make a list of underpants & associated items. How sad is that?

That wouldn't work for me - I took my red top last year and didn't wear it but I don't like it any more so wouldn't be taking it again anyway, I'll be taking my new green one instead.

I think two patents is an excellent achievement Dave! Anything interesting?

Looks like our posts crossed Dave M. I wasn't hiding but I'm quite shy really and didnt fancy going round all week with a sign saying I'm Paralytic! I also teach kids that they should never meet up with strangers that they meet on the Internet
