Well, if you can call it summer. I've just spent two very wet weeks in Cornwall.
And now its time to get excited about SKIING! Hurrah! Please feel free to join me in my excitement. |

Not during a skiing trip but I got stuck up a mountain in the summer (just below Mont Blanc) and had to spend the night in a mountain hut.
I think I would have been quite happy to be stuck in a bar overnight :D |

I would definately get a couple of lessons before you go like Baillie said, just to get a couple of main 'essentials' really. It will help you when you get out there rather than struggling to keep up and learn from someone else.

Sorry that wasn't particularly helpful.
If you did fancy Italy or Austria I would recommend Livignio (Italy) as its duty/tax free (can never remember which), good for a mixed ability group and some decent nightlife. In Austria I would go for Mayrhofen, a lot more night life there and again good for mixed abilities. The only problem with these two resorts is that they are split across the valley so you may end up away from the rest of your group. Theres so much to choose from though, its hard to narrow it down but do a bit of research on this website or here http://www.wtss.co.uk/ Welcome to the world of skiing :D |

Whens the house warming? Make sure there's some snow on the ground and we'll get the bus over. |

 I would never have said France was cheaper than Italy or Austria, I must be going to the wrong resorts. |

I see this forum as more of a therapy group for those dull summer months. I've not even been on my summer holibobs yet (14 sleeps) and then when we get back it really is 'almost winter'.
We haven't booked anything yet (but I am tempted), we said we'd do last minute this winter, but I don't think I can wait. We feel your pain Kate. |
