I did my first season in Chamonix, never skied before in my life. Agree with Le Tour and Les Houches as a general all rounder for the less advanced though.
Le Herse in Argentiere is not recommended for beginners. |

Are you talking VW camper? My first question would be do you know if your camper can make it that far and does the heating work. And of course you need to think about things like snow chains and all the other guff that goes with driving.
If I was you I think I'd be inclined to find a campsite in a valley (I don't actually know of any campsites in a ski resort that would be open in winter but there must be some) where there might be less snow and perhaps a bit more warmth. I know there's a campsite not far from Tignes/Val D'isere, and they are more valley based. A friend of mine spent a whole season living out of a camper in Chamonix, fortunately for them there wasn't much snow in the valley that winter and they lived to tell the tale. |

How about Whistler?

I can tell you about the training course. It will involve things like teaching your gran how to suck eggs, how to dress for the airport run and it will also involve lots of drinking, maybe some dressing up and dancing on tables.

Looks like the snow has arrived in time for your trip. Have no recommendations for accommodation but I would just have a google.
