I wish I could meet the person who first decided to strap 2 planks to their feet and throw themselves down a mountain

Thid must be the stuff that was put under my nose by the "ski-instructor-barman" in the Sport Cafe to smell. I was nearly sick !

Definitely not a tourist drink. The locals treat it like their champagne.
Think Petrol mixed with Paraffin and Diesel, only stronger.

Thing is, I like the rough farmers schnaps, though not many do. Many people can go for Marilon, the peach schnaps, nice.

But Dave, with the best will in the world, and all the cultural sensitivity one can muster, that stuff really does smell like well stale cabbage !

If you are referring to Krautinger, I could not agree more. However, there are some very tasty schnaps. An example is hazelnuss, hazelnut, lovely taste.

Not only is the turnip schnapps nasty, I'm not a big fan of Zipfer either!! Bit unfortunate really considering those are the two main drinks in the area.
