It would be good to ski elsewhere, as we travel around the country a lot, but the prices are significantly higher than the members' prices at Manchester.
There's a big group on here getting together at Xscape Castleford soon, you could always join them and give that place a try.
For ladies, the Chill Factore has another advantage in being around the corner from the Trafford Centre, the largest indoor shopping mall in Europe if not the world!
The slope also has Snow and Rock, Dare 2 B, North Face and other snow shops.

Looks like you were having a good time, concentrating hard, well done (hopefully that doesnt come across as patronising).
My take on indoor slopes:
1. They ruin your bases
2. They are actually very boring when you have done a lot of skiing
3. They are seriously over priced

2. I dont think they are boring though if you can make up drills and games to do!!
3. They are bloody expensive!!

You're right, I had to concentrate hard, some racing event had been on all weekend and so the place was full of ridges and hillocks, almost like being off piste I suspect (not done that yet though), and you have to watch out for people coming from all directions, but we all (7 of us) had a great time.

I have only been skiing since December last year, went on 1 weeks holiday (where I just about managed to start to do some parallel, but it was going to the Chill Factore once or twice a week in the summer that has got me really going and able to ski knowing that I am in charge of my skis rather than the other way around. So for me it's been great to be able to ski through the summer and to keep those new skills up until its time to get back in the wide outdoors!

That is what I see these indoor places perfect for, people like you who have been for 1 week and want to brush up so that you can really enjoy your next week and hit it with confidence. From what I saw on there, you are well in control with a decent enough technique.
As for the hillockls and ridges, just expect to find many pistes like that after a light dump or at the end of the day. Off piste is a little bit different...!
Enjoy, looks like you did!

There was a set of slalom training gates set up on one side, and I recognised the skier, so went over to say hi to Kwame Nkrumah Achaempong of the Ghana Ski Team.
Hemel are one of his sponsors, and as it's leading up to the winter Olympics and he's qualified, he's training hard.
He invited me to take some runs down his training lane. These are full size spring loaded poles, and when he passes them they slap the snow. When I passed one, you could have driven a car between me and the pole :D However, I made several clean runs with no gates missed.
He's only been skiing 5 years, and the gap between the way we both ski is huge
I wish him every success for the racing season and in Vancouver at the Olympics :D

I went to view a house in Faversham and then a school that needs a new head in Canterbury. Thinking about moving out of London...just can't make up our minds where yet.
I'll keep my eyes peeled for Kwame at the WO.
