Not sure about April but January was incredible this year. I'd imagine it might be good at altitude but not great at resort level.
I'd go higher at that time if year.

It's not very comprehensive advice tbh!
Champoluc and Gressoney are fantastic but I'd always book high altitude in April. Cervinia is very close and 2000mts at resort level, the skiing is far less challenging but it may have better snow.
Alternatively wait until the last minute to bookWhen in doubt?....Flat out.

I see no reason not to try Champoluc in April especially this season with such good snow.
Otherwise mr recommendation would be Cervinia.
However I'm trying La Thuile first week in April which I'm fairly confident will be fine.

I am sure this year's end of season will be fabulous in Monte Rosa.
Could I ask your opinion on the best base there.
I was leaning towards Gressoney.
