There's plenty of time between now and March to get some decent snow fall .....

Come out to Grandvalira Tony. Conditions are fantastic.

Theres also plenty of time for it to warm up, and in March you need to be higher up with generally warmer temps at that time of year, but anythings possible.
Put it like this - I wouldnt book Soll in March, but I would go to Cervinia.

Anyway, we digress.....

Good write up, Tone. Thanks and sorry the snow wasn't great but it does sound like you did your best! Not sure this area appeals much having read your write up. I am keen to return to Austria but worried about the weather (although it was snowing in some places this morning, at last!)

Having been to Soll in March, I can only concur; (although we were quite lucky snow-wise, it was hit-and-miss depending upon the day's weather; and of course afternoons were less than ideal).

Good report Tony. We still haven't booked our March trip. The way the seasons going I think we may opt for a late deal (or just default to Val Thorens!)

By the way, the hike didn't sound like much fun in ski boots!
slippy slidey snow......me likey!

North and Western Alps are set for a bit of a change! Cold and snowy from Thursday and well into February by the looks of the current forecasts (they've been indicating that for a week or so now, so good confidence levels).

It only takes a couple of big storms for a season to go from average to awesome! 8)
