Cheers Steve, from NZ but living and working in Australia. Niseko was rediculous! the snow is incredible, so light and so deep and consistent. Every day it would snow from 4pm till morning and that was Feb. Dec and Jan it snowed 24/7.
Cheers for the advice. I read some more about Rossland and I found quite a few young people saying the town is dead. Mt sounds sweet though. Fernie is exactly what I want just wish they had a bit of a better park.

I think we can put this down to youthfull exuberance on Shaneoforpow's part.

Shaneoforpow - It sounds like Banff or Fernie is ideal for what you want. There are loads of young people in Banff and it has a great nightlife. If that is what you want I would check it out. I'm told by a friend that the HI hostel is very good place to start, though it's a quality establishment rather than a shithole :) You could then find a room in a house (though you should be aware of the need to reside bylaws that exist in Banff - google them).

Hi,

Kimberley had a park last time I went, but its only small. The town is small though and the alpine resort has just 2 bars! Its a 2 hour drive from Fernie and you can use the same lift pass.
Hope this helps :-)

Churr,

Check out the BC hills. Sun Peaks, Revelstoke, Big White and of course Kicking Horse. There are others no doubt but all in BC. All the good snow in Canada is out west. (We keep the ice in the east so we can be good on any surface!)

Have fun!

Mike
