My plans for 2013:

Jan Ski Trip
March Ski Trip
J2Ski Trip :D

Better start saving now

It is doable, particularly in January.
We paid £379 for H/B hotel package to Cervinia this January.
~£210 for a lift pass + appr. £150 for food and drinks while there.
Cervinia is not too expensive and local pizzas are delicious. It is a different story over the hill in Zermatt though.

Due to it's very compact centre most accomodation is virtually ski-in ski-out. Eating out is a treat :)
The only downsides ) are:
- no tree line runs in Cervinia, but plenty in Zermatt and Pila;
- very quiet in the evening if you are party animal, but plenty of restaurants and bars.

Key questions:

Is it busy on the slopes?

Is there queuing to get on the lifts?

This January it was very quiet on the slopes and no queues even at the bottom station of the main 6-seater heated bubble in a village centre :D

I quite fancy Cervinia too, mainly because i want to Ski Zermatt and its the cheaper option. However having said that i hear that the link is often closed due to weather.

For me next year i am expecting that i one trip will be to the PDS area, more than likely it will be Avoriaz (cue wickers) and possibly my second trip will be a return to Paradiski with Les Arcs my choice but it will probably be Belle Plagne again as we loved it there.

Other shortlisted are:

Valmorel
Val D'Isere
La Tania.
Skied: Arinsal, La Plagne, Alpe D'huez, Flaine, Les Arcs, Morzine, Les Gets, Avoriaz, Sauze, Courchevel, Val Thorens

During the 3rd week of January this year the link to Zermatt was closed on 1 day only (Friday) due to high winds and poor visibility. During the previous 5 days there was perfect sunny weather and the link was open all day every day :)
