DDUK try www.skiclub.co.uk

The historical snow feature they have is good, but you have to register with them to get it, which is free (not the membership).

The above is the snow for Westendorf throughout the whole season.
Hope that helps :D

Oh brilliant thank you so very much for this.

However it has now totally wrecked my plan to go in November, and have lots of snow.

We were hoping to go in November 07 as our bump will then be 8 months old (all being well) and the other one will be 2 years and 8 months, so will be rife for playing about in it all!

Looking now like we will have to go later from the looks of things above, ah well.

Thanks again chaps :D

Yep the Ski Club of GB website will give you historical snowfall. You have to register but you don't have to become a fully paid up member. :)

Lets get it on!
First road trip of the year! Dates all cleared with anyone that matters (boss + wife)..... only problem is I think we might be a little premature! Story of my life!
Dates - Nov 17th - Nov 20th. We were planning on driving down Chamonix from Essex Uk.... but then we realised we might be hiking the mountains rather than boarding!!! ARRRGH! From what i can tell most towns are dead and in repair mode until mid december. Is this right? Where can we go? Its gotta be Europe or pretty cheap/close as funds are pretty tight. Is anywhere going to have any snow? Are any lifts going to be open? Are any bars going to be open? Am I going to get to do another full flip face plant into the fresh powder!!? or be stuck with Mrs Morris and her hiking pole from no.43 for a weekend?
If anyone can shed any snow on my situation it would greatly appriciated.

SEE YOU ON THE SLOPES!

Go high or go home! :D

For late November either Tignes or Val Thorens will almost certainly have some snow (and be open). The drive is an extra couple of hours compared to Chamonix but you'll get the reward of setting plank on snow long before most of us! If you're lucky, they might have *lots* of snow...

Don't bother booking accommodation until the last minute - go with the snow. Pretty much all the hotels will be open and most will be empty so you should get good prices to help with your budget.

Keep an eye on our ski hire offers too - there's a better than even chance of getting a very good discount for that time (most of the gear should be brand new too).

... watch the snow forecasts, research the resorts and start getting excited - it's only six weeks away!

Cheers powderhoud! Thanks for the info. just been looking around and .....

TIGNES HERE WE COME!!! pronounces "teens" not "Tig ness" lol as I was corrected by the international directory enquiries lady. Smart arse. :D

We're now talking about flying and renting a car. Ive found some feedback saying its a 2hour drive and some others saying 4.5hours drive from Lyon. Does anyone know? and is that the closest airport? If its 4.5 hour drive we'd probably be better off driving from Uk.

Does anyone know the best place to stay? Close to the slopes but with a bit of night life. Any tips for Tignes?

Thanks :) :) :)

WE'RE ALL GOING ON A ... SNOWY HOLIDAY! (4 weeks and counting!)
