If I had listened to Tony H before I went I would have been pestered by prostitutes and beggers, used broken skis, had lifts not working, slopes not pisted and have a non existent infrastructure. Get a life mate I have travelled around the world and put up with alot of poor standards and can tell you matey, you havent got a clue. The hotels are clean the ski conditions better than some of the resorts in Austria. The Bulgarian people are respectful and couldnt go far enough to help. All 15 lifts in the resort were open and working and all runs clean and pisted.
For every bad report you here you wont here the 50 good ones so maybe you should take an overall view of other peoples accounts or visit a country and then make your opinion.
Glad you had a good time. You're probably right in that there is a balance to be obtained from peoples opinions and reports. Unfortunately what I had been informed was nothing but poor standards etc. It seems they have raised the bar somewhat according to your findings.
You can't gauge a ski resort on the conditions at the time you go, but Bulgaria generally does not get as good snowfall as, for example much of Austria. Thats another reason I'd choose not to go personally.
However, you make a point in that to offer a genuine opinion you should perhaps visit a resort yourself.
As for getting a life, matey, maybe you need to get things into perspective. I simply offered up a viewpoint based on a NUMBER of reports I had been given of negative experiences about Bulgaria for skiing, and other things people on here had posted in a similar vein. Luckily for you, you found them to be incorrect and enjoyed your visit, and for that I am pleased, but please.....don't get all aggressive about it, eh?
