Are there any j2skiers currently in resort that can give us more of a heads up of what's happening?

On the cars that were caught in the avalanche earlier on the road out of Val - three occupants and their dog all got out unharmed. :-)

Pubs closing for a bit of wind? It was gusting 90mph here yesterday and I was in the pub :)

It's a precaution over people getting lost on the way home.
I've been in Val when a storm hit and the roads/pubs etc were closed.
We were told not to leave the chalet (by the police) - we couldn't even see the road! An avalanche came down onto but not over the road about 100yds away.
They know the risk points - and "tipsy" tourists who haven't been able to ski are a big risk!

Glad the occupants got out okay , pretty manic spot of weather, just text my mate who lives down the valley in Villaroger to see how they are there.

Can you get lift pass refund if lifts are closed to poor weather?

I agree, the river that runs through Val is potentially hazardous with zero vision and a gut full of booze, along with hypothermia etc.
Good call by the local Gendarmerie

Suddenly we all felt a huge, and I mean HUGE, gust of wind hit the side of the coach. The whole bus slid sidewards across the two lane motorway, the car on the left braked hard to accommodate the bus' broadside ( he really did C**P himself.)
Many people on the bus also "crapped themselves" but luckily the bus driver pulled a rally drivers counter steer and flipped the back end round again, I think the boy was "s******g himself" but saved our lives.
Never experienced that before but lived to tell the tale !!
