Tony seems to think I'm on drugs already (after reading my posts). Can't think why

I've been tea-total for about 20 years, and never taken any drugs - these days I even drink de-caffeinated tea.

But I do know what it's like to be on drugs. As a family we accidentally ate some magic mushrooms once, when I was only nine, and they have the same effect as LSD. We were all hallucinating and found it very difficult to walk etc. - so I'm quite sure someone on LSD wouldn't be able to ski.

You're talking illegal substances, I'm talking drugs

Thanks everyone :D,

I didn't get the Bill Hicks bit though.

I really wouldn't recommend anyone trying any form of LSD. The hallucinations we got were all different, and some of them were really terrifying - my mum was seeing devils with tails etc.

And it really was accidental - we had mushrooms on fried bread for breakfast picked in our own field by my elder sister. I went out for a ride on my pony in the field and wondered why the sky had changed colour and it wasn't until I heard my mum screaming that I realized something was horribly wrong. My older sister and I had to walk 1/4 of a mile then to the nearest house to phone for a doctor.

The doctor took my mum and my 6 year old sister to hospital to have their stomachs pumped out. I pretended I wasn't too bad and stayed home with my elder sister and her friends. And yes, at one point we were all rolling about laughing.

I know my posts are a little strange, but I have had a very strange life, and it is all quite true.

And, as I said before, I am quite sure it would not be possible to ski after taking LSD.

On the subject of this thread, I think the same drink/ski rules should apply as the drink/drive rules in the U.K. If one is not deemed safe to be driving a car, then I don't think one should be ski-ing either, both for one's own safety and for the safety of the other skiers and boarders.

Dale

I can see your from the North Wales area, seems like it must be in the blood this region. It was only last weekend I came out of the local and slipped on the ice after a few too many ales, i take my drinking seriously off the piste as well.

Are you going skiing this year? I am off to Verbier on Saturday and then La Plagne in Feb.

I reckon I could go toe to toe or ski to ski with you at the bar

All the best

James
