Oakley Crowbars - as recommended by your friendly local Scot.

Would have thought a Giro would be good for most helmet-compatible goggle designs?

But - when it's snowing I have to wear goggles over my glasses because otherwise I can't see where I'm going and when I stop they fog up (because I'm steaming with the effort of trying to ski). Goggles that don't fog up are essential. Also, goggles help when the light is 'flat' and you can only see 2-dimensions and you can't see the bumps and dips.

I hate wearing goggles because they restrict my vision so much, and I usually ski wearing my glasses with my goggles slung around my neck.

I have Oakley Stockholms (they are for ladies)and they are the best I've had for peripheral vision. I don't like the way sunglasses steam up.

It might be. Is it normal to have have a gap (possibly 1cm) between the helmet and the middle of the goggle as this is what i have with my current goggles?

When I bought new goggles last year I bought my helmet with me when trying them on. Some goggles work with some helmets, its a case of trial and error to find ones you like that don't leave that gap. :D

Or post on the internet and find out what combinations work best ;)

Picked up a pair of Sinner Sigo Rebel goggles from TKMaxx today for £15, fit brilliantly with the Uvex freeride helmet.

The 'Red Hifi II' comes with a "goggle gasket". Basically a piece of material that covers up any gaps, and keeps your forehead nice and warm. I've not used it though - my Bollé Nova's fit well with it.
