Same. I like the idea, but in reality I just get a headache from trying to read in sunlight and cannot just lie there.

Fave holiday was a week on Ardeche river, followed by a week in La Clusaz.

Were there a lot of traffic jams tonight, lost your fluffy dice, the beaded seat cover broken or beads broken on your rear view mirror or whatever else you have in your cab broken?

Oh dear, such a long way off piste.

Beaches are for chilling. You have the action in the winter, the summer is the chilled vibe. Sun, sea, sand, g&t, nice bottle of rose, sun setting over the sea, dinner on the front, the sound of the waves in the distance.....

A chance to read a book - I never do that any other time, listen to some new tunes on the iPod, get away from having to get up at any particular time, snoozing and stretching....

December to April I go mad for skiing. From then on its beaches or cities for me.

Boring? You mean relaxing.

Sorry Tony but have to disagree beach boring, I have lazed on a beach over of the years and I have to spend some part of my holiday on the beach today .... but between beaches and mountains, mountains win every time

Looks like we are all different then.

Mountains for me in the winter, I would never take a winter sun holiday when there is skiing to be done.

Slightly nervous about joining in on this one again after seeing the blood on the walls!!!

But, at the risk of being controversial, I like a nice rose. The dryer the better for me (can't stand that Zinfandel rubbish they serve all over the place). In fact there is a box of Pink Pinot in the fridge as we speak. I like a drop of squirty pink on a Friday after work. (squirty because that is how the wine comes out of the box - just to reassure you).

I know Tony probably won't think a wine out of a box very up market but for quaffability it's fine, nice and cold from the fridge.

Bring on the book and the sun lounger, I feel a beach holiday coming on.
I can see my house from here...

I love the sound of the first gush from a new box of wine shame it dies to a pathetic trickle as it nears the end.
Boxes are handy and much more discreet to dispose of. I hate putting out my empty bottles for recycling, I'm sure the neighbours count them up!
The only problem with boxes is getting the last bit out, you end up breaking open the box and squeezing the bag like a crazed addict.

For me beaches are ok, bars along the beach are better!!!

As for wine, I love it all but do shy away from rose unless the mrs insists. Dry whites are my thing.....nearly every night sadly.

The Trouble is Snapzzzy I get bored very quickly, once I have taken Little W Swimming a bit of body boarding build the sand castle in a couple of hours I'm off to do something a little more enjoyable.
PS I can sit in a bar at home

I can become bored easily but there is often fun stuff to be found.
We are off to Benidorm (not everyones cup of tea i know) in two weeks and i will be found on the cable waterski/wakeboard a fair bit.
Mrs Snapzzz likes the beach hols, the warm sun and shopping/markets. Its a price i have to pay for the Ski trips.
