Heil Pavel! Not heard from you for a while.
So you said: "Think of skiing on eggs when on ice! By soft and gentle on ice!"
I agree totally. This is the key to succesfully sking on ice, whatever technique you have adopted. It is difficult to think "ski gentle", but with ice, if you become agressive, then the skis just slide away from you.
I do own one pair of K2skis where I can ski strongly, but they are long skis, great torsional stiffness, and have always been invincible on ice.
However, I find that this is not the norm. Stay gentle, and remain in control.

Dave Mac,
You are my kind of skier! We really must ski together! Only if you promise to try some new Fischers for next year!

As far as those boots,,,,,I understand since I have same issues! my trick is to wait for shell to warm up. To sprinkle the inner liners with some Dr. Schol's foot powder and wear thin thin socks! I have discovered that there is no need for special thick ski socks!

I am guiding some mature groups ( one special trip is called "Never Summer Group" ) ! You must be 60+ , ski in a Tie Die 60's shirt, Shorts and ski ALL day ! Yes it will be in April ! Yes you are invited!
Yes I will provide skis and boots !
Yes I will video tape you!
Yes I will have some Coronas hidden in a cold stream for you!

I will send you a picture to entice you,,if you send me your latest email!

PS I am sure the renovations for your kids are over so,,,,,,no excuses this time!

Respectfully,
Pavel

Tight boots and an 87deg side edge is the key. That, and as boring as it sounds, do some out of season glacier skiing.

Tino,
Yes of course any skier who skis ICE must tune his/her own skis at 3 degrees beveled!

As far as tight boots,,,just comfy boots that have a 100 flex index will do!

No need to over-tighten buckles. Great skiers even ski with upper buckle loose!

Sorry, Pavel, but my season is spoken for. I have 3 locations in Austria, and a month in New Zealand in between!
There is a high chance I will be in Vail and Aspen next year!

Busy man.
Happy man.
Free man.

Enjoy life and many ski trips.
and
if ever you come in my "galaxy" there are some skis and boots ready for you.

As far as "pleasures" on the slope, it will be memorable and videotaped for your sons!

You are a kind man, Pavel. In response to some ladies' requests, I did enter 4 videos on youtube two seasons back.
