Methinks your quote should read....Ohhh, the half pipes they are a calling
Not to mention the rails and kickers )

Hi bandit,

You are correct, however I don't have literary licence to alter greatly - but you did catch my meaning.

And besides - I don't believe in half measures :!: Go big or stay home.... and I hope not to become that lonely old codger

The kickers I can go for, but the rails I'd stay clear of. I don't trust them such that I wouldn't damage the skis. If I were to damage the skis off a kicker - I'd likely be damaged too and my wife would hide them after that

Can you tell, I need some snow time s o o n!

Mike

Mike, I have skied a little with a very strong skier who is just over 60. He spends most of his time off piste, and is just "getting into" jumps and natural hits on the mountain. Oh how I envy his knees

If you want snow, you'll have to come to Europe, you know it makes sense :D

Bandit,

Some people say the guy that dies with the most debt is the guy that "won" at life. Maybe as skiers we could think we won if we catch the most air off of the natural or groomer made bumps!

Snow has made it into the Nova Scotia forecast for tomorrow night - finally - but very little and wet snow. It would be great to go Europe for a skiing trip. All of you make it sound enticing :!: Local clubs here have made the trip to Italy and other areas; and have come home with some great stories. :-)
Mike
Age is but a number.

Snow forecast for the north east of England in the next few days too, but I wouldnt fancy skiing in Hartlepool to be honest.

Wow!, Thanks peeps!

I thought I might get slated, but most of you have been magnanimous, even the younger ones!

I can blast onto the piste knowing I'm the "new" 35! That surely gives me poetic license!

It also turns out, that as I work in I.T. Im a 50+ year old geek and a nerd, my goodness how the world changes. Don't have a ponytail though, those days are most certainly gone.

I would also like to add an extra Perk to RoseR's list of perks:- Being able to fall asleep anywhere, and not get told off for it! I'm getting quite good at this one.

The moral of my story is quite simple, when the Saga insurance drops through the letterbox, don't take it too seriously, and don't let the b*gg*rs grind you down.

So I'm off now to strap the zimmer onto the Atomics, and when I do get the poles tangled in the frame and I go head over tail I know I won't hear the words: "What ya doin' Grandad"

Hmmmm.....Slippers......Cocoa......ZZZZzzzzzzzzzz

Not ideal, but if there's snow it's a lot closer than Sauze and January is along time away... Desperate times... )

You know your an old codger when you start taking the "thin cover" signs personally...

My bro in law last year. Didn't realise why I asked him to take his hat off by the sign
