Yes, life definately begins at 40
Hahaha
Cant even imagine being 40.....kids, wife, dodgy back/knees etc........think ill just pause at my age now :D
you will have to stop getting rat_arsed on eccy road :D
I go to the gym and am hopefully running in the Great North Run, ski most Fridays at Kendal and my partners 42 and she does the same as me. For me its not about "keeping up" its doing something to the best of your ability and coming away thinking to yaself "I did well at that"
My partner and myself have 3 kids aged 12,13 and 14. At skiing they have no fear what so ever and they always want to beat me at everything and it will not be long before they do beat me , its the way it goes.

I already have dodgy knees, get bad hangovers and dont want to get out of bed.....and i'm only 21. I can't imagine what I will be like in 30 or 40 years!
Saying that, my mum and dad are mid 50s and have just come back from trecking the sahara and are off to Patagonia and the Andes in March so hopefully the active genetics will kick in at some point later in life.
Watching older people ski is pretty cool and skiing is definately one of the only sports/hobbies that can be done by pretty much anyone.

Getting back into skiing at age 41, I wonder how well I'll keep up. I don't feel old, I am fairly fit and can usually keep up with friends in there 20's when we go mountain hiking/climbing. I have been telling myself 40 is the new 30 (25 sounds even better).

Its interesting its the OLDER people on here that seem to have more to say about age )
Those old codgers on here who are still skiing, well done to you. I hope I am still skiing at some of the older ages mentioned. But none of it makes anyone better than anyone else.
40 was an age I was dreading turning, and did 5 months ago. I dont think I have quite got used to it yet either. I dont get all this "life begins at 40" stuff. I think life begins for people when they want it to, depending on their individual circumstances. Personally, I was married at 19 with a baby daughter, so at 40 she is 21 and at Uni, so my other half and I can do what we want when we want to a degree, but I have friends my age with young kids, and for them life has taken a backward step.
Anyway, like the Irishman said, everyone on here loves their skiing or boarding, irrespective of age, and thats what its all about.
