Have just booked for mid march - hopefully will still be good skiing at that time of year? Staying in Vaujany as apparently has a good nursery for the kids (1yo and 3 yo).

Should I be considering attempting the Tunnel as a intermediate? It looks dead steep on pictures - and pictures never ever tell the full story do they!

Also, anyone know how possible it is to get from Vaujany to A d'Huez without skis? - To take the kids across to play.

Can't wait and still got over 9 weeks to go! :D

The runs above Vaujany are really nice cruisey blues, though quite a way from the village. Also being lower than Alpe D'Huez the snow might not be as good. Not that I'd let that worry you, you should still have plenty of snow throughout the whole area.

You won't be able to reach Alpe D'Huez without skis, it's the other side of the mountain.

For advice on the tunnel, look at the Alpe D'Huez Run Ratings thread, you're not the only one to ask that question recently.

I stayed in Oz en oisans last Feb and will be there again this Feb.
You will be able to get to alpe de huez without ski's but it will take some time.

Take the cable car to L'Alpette and then the Gondola down to Oz en Oisans.
There is another Gondola at the other end of the village which is not that far away. This one will take you up to the top of the middle section of alp d'huez and there is a gondalo then down into the village.

Have a look at the piste map from andyhull and you should be able see the route.

Cheers all, eventually found the other thread on the Tunnel. Looks like "fun" and having looked at the youtube clips of people sliding down the other side looks like one to go for. Shall probably change my mind when I get to the lip!

Looks like getting across to ADH from Vaujany with a 1 year old could be a bit of a mission. Have heard that there is not much space for mucking around in the snow in the immediate area of Vaujany - anyone know if this is the case?

Heading to ADH with a group (27 of us including lots of kids) on week commencing 31 January. Anyone else going to be there that week?

I dont know the village area of Vaujany, as I never went down that far.
There is a small area at the top of the L'alpette cable car behind the resturant (on the right). My 4 year old use to play there sometimes in the afternoons when she wasnt skiing. Its a safe sunny spot with a wall for you sit on while they are playing in the deep snow.

Great, thanks. Think anyone would mind if I planted our 1yr old in the snow and picked him up later in the day!?
