In the event of an accident I suppose any insurer would pick up on this statement, as it's in your name. Most policies require the policyholder to refrain from needless peril, unless you are saving another persons life.

I thought I'd close this thread with a lid report from St Moritz, where I can confirm approximately 98% of skiers were dressed like Darth Vader this season.
This is why I am setting up the official facebook save the bobble campaign.

I would say the same applied to the Grand massif, I am quite proud really me and Mrs W were the only ones in the chalet not to wear Lids, although I did have put one of the chalet staff in his place when he tried to convince me to wear a lid....... Knob :D

Since when did not wearing a helmet become needless peril, apart from maybe in your own personal opinion?
Thats a most ridiculous thing to say Bandit.
Until they become compulsory, people have the right not to want to look like an alien, someone on day release, or something out of star wars, thanks.
And until such a time, insurance companies will not NOT pay out a claim because someone was not wearing a helmet. Unless it specifically says that in their t and c's of course.

It's only as ridiculous as much as the insurance claims industry is not adversarial. Personally I really don't care if Wickers wears a helmet or not. Insurers do look hard for savings on claims, employing teams of workers to drive down payouts.Could have worn a helmet, but chose not to, could be seen as irresponsible action on the part of the policyholder.
