Obviously how ' good ' kit is can be open to debate but for the most part I would suggest buying a Dare2Be jacket when you can comfortably afford a Mammut (or something) would just be daft.

Ach well

Not everyone has the deposable income that you and I may have, I think sometimes when we talk about
these expensive brands we sometimes forget that...... 8)

I didn't say buy expensive brands I said by the best stuff you can afford.

I do agree that we are probably in a more fortunate position than a lot of people right now (even although sometimes my posting doesn't reflect that).

Oakley, like the other manufacturers seem to have some cheaply made models. Unlike other manufacturers, Oakley's bottom of the range goggles aren't so cheap. I think it's just a matter of finding a good pair of which ever brand, at a good price (assuming they fit well, face and helmet).

because I'm so inclined .....

I've always hated goggles (as Mr Mac and Admin will testify!) but have found a pair that I'm rather happy with - Smiths, paid £40 at the Hemel Snow and Rock, well happy :D

South Lincs. Not a million miles from Notts. In fact, I was born in Sutton in Ashfield
