Heads Up - Incoming Snow - Alps - 4th January onward

Crystal have posted a warning of possible disruption to transfers on their website.
I hope all travelling within the next few days get there without too much trouble.

My office on Gold Coast Australia overlooks the surf and it is has been going off here recently. Next week I have booked a weeks holiday of surfing at Byron Bay in Wategos Beach, then back to work for 1 week, then to Val d' Isere for snow. Good times ahead. Any recomendations for ski hire?

Hi Matt, I have surfed on the East coast, and been to the lighthouse at Byron Bay.

Dave thanks for the web site for ski hire. Byron Bay is one of the best surfing spots on the East Coast of Australia. The water at the moment is very crystal clear and great temperature. We are coming into our low depression season which brings the swell up. Last week there was a pod of 15 dolphins surfing one wave. One of the best experiences is riding a wave with dolphins on the same wave.

That sounds fantastic! Have swum with dolphins in Scotland and New Zealand, (in NZ, also with Orca!) My Aussie surfing was limited to Manly.
Did meet a shark head on off Fraser Island! The water quickly turned brown, cannot remember if that was from me or the shark!
Did a 6 month round trip from Sydney, Townsville, Cairns, Normanton, Mount Isa, Tennants Creek, Alice Springs, flying doctor to Adelaide, back on the road ~ Canberra, Sydney.
Anyway, skiset are a pretty good outfit. I use them most years. You need to check out the location of which shop is located nearest to your hotel. If you are not sure ~ ask on J2!
