Dave when I read this at first I thought that it had been snowing all day and therefore you could not get out to ski so stayed home and read the Viz. I thought to myself Oh he likes that kind of reading does he? and I also wondered why you were struggling to read it as I would have thought it easy for Scots to read Geordie! A bit like OOur Wullie! but anyway I was wrong......and am still wondering what the viz is? lol
As a witness to said event, I can confirm that there was much whooping and giggling, however, 16 yrs old seems a tad mature. The last time I saw two kids having that much fun I had to change their nappies 10 minutes later. Amazing day, too much snow, getting everywhere it was...under my skis, on top of my wooly hat, in my gluewein.
I can also confirm that D,D and J are not real, they can't be. People in real life are just not this nice. Once again, amazing.
Thanks, enjoy the rest of your trip... will be sure to keep you updated!

it's all [bloomin] good!
I felt twinges in my right knee after doing red 23 four times. met up with everyone and banter/gluewein helped me enormously (as well as the baseball cap idea from the legend} and skied blue 21 a few more times before lunch.
I was desperate to ski again after lunch but stuck to my rule of 2 hours max this hol. One more day tomorrow, may push a bit harder if the legend/conditions allow...
Gotta tell you though, knee deep in powder aint easy for a recovering knee-surgery-skier. bring on the piste bashers [sorry ross, bandit, ise, et al, probably sounds like swearing to you ]
having the most amazing time with the most amazing company. we don't want to come home on thursday
still smiling though :D
edit how has my husband got five stars when I've only got four???

Further to what fellow J2s have said, Jan and his frau go more than the extra mile in looking after Auhof guests. They run guests to and from the slopes. Our little group ended up in the Bichlwirt, (pause to praise the lord), and it just happened that there were no taxis available. Jan turned out to help.
RossF, if you are a fast skier, you need to ski with Jan. I am a constant student of ski technique, but Jan covers a much wider aspect, and his technical ability is mmm, quite good. We were talking about you today, and wishing you well from the 25th.

so, I'd like to go into detail about our trip and will do when I get home tomorrow. In the meantime, I've been threatened to post within the next half hour to tell you my news...
I SKIED DOWN RED 24 TO THE BOTTOM OF THE VILLAGE! The steepest slope I've ever skied. Grace was nowhere to be seen, neither was speed or style, however, I did it and I didn't fall over! I was petrified, my heart was pounding but I traversed it, no sliding (well maybe a little) and I'm here and well. Seeing a lady side stepping down in her boots with her skis in her hand made me feel even more triumphant!
enough said for now. sorry dave and admin, the husband [who took me down said tough run ] has been flicking between this and the carling cup score so it's taken slightly longer than half an hour.
we had another incredible day and the evening was equally as incredible :D
see you on the other side...
