I wear a smart pair of black timberland walking boots I picked up in Vegas of all places for $50. Wear anything just make sure they are warm and comfortable! No matter what you wear you can still slip all over the place after a drink of two on a bit of ice ;)

Bought a pair of 'moonboots' for first ever ski trip 20 odd years ago, on the advise of fellow travellers. Didn't use them then, and never used them since. Chucked them away last summer as clogging up the loft.
However,,,,,,,,,,,,, would have come in handy this year ( in Val) as snow up past my Cats,in the town
