It's the quiet. Normally when you wake in the night, you hear the normal sounds of the fridge, the furness, but also the dim hum of life outside your house. Then one night you wake and something is different. Those outside noises are gone or at least muted. You don't have to look outside, you know. Later there's another sound. Easily mistaken for jet planes approaching the airport at any other time of year. A roaring that becomes a grounching sound. The snowplough clearing the street. The season begins...

I have just spotted this regular snow blog written by a L2A resident and ski teacher. It looks new and I hope it gets regularly updated during the season.
