-take a late late holiday to pick up next years kit for 1/3 price
-fly to cheapest airport
-use train when you get there
-stay somewhere very very cheap, out of centre
-eat 3 mars bars on the slope instead of lunch
-use the money you saved on all that to buy cheap beer to stop you noticing any of it

simple.

I'm a student, I'm broke whatever the (economic) weather! I'm currently sitting in the basement of an exam board to earn the money to take me skiing in '09. Summers are nice, but nothing compares to fields of the white stuff. Nothing is going to stop me skiing, damn it.

Had a full day yesterday on our sailing dinghy and then spent the evening on my mates boat, anchored in a sheltered bay, eating dinner with friends before chugging about to catch a fish or 48.

Nope, shaln't be going on a summer holiday this year!

I am definitely in the sod it camp. However, I always buy my holidays as cheaply as I can. Whether that means book ealry for maximum discounts, or wait until late on, it doesnt really matter. I have only rarely paid brochure or quoted price for a holiday, and those were both over xmas to places we decided we specifically wanted to go, so no choice in the matter.

However, recent skiing and beach holidays have always been at massively reduced prices. I do however appreciate that the RECESSION is going to cause a lot of people problems, and holidays are usually the first thing to go. Personally, I dont think it will affect me, due to my own personal circumstances, but time will tell. My mortgage is fixed for 2 years, but energy and fuel prices will have an effect come what may.

However, having already had 3 skiing holidays early 2008, 2 weeks in Rhodes, and a week at the end of September in Santorini to come, as well as a week in St Anton early Jan 2009 already booked, I think I am definitely in the sod it camp.
