Did you tell your UK insurance company that you have a European speeding fine?

Now why would anyone do that? Its a fine, not an endorsement.

I am going to boycott:

Milka
Swatch
Toblerone

And Geneva airport. That airport is a hell hole. 2.5 hours from the start of the queue, through security and to gate. Needless to say the plane was 30 min late departing. Would prefer the alternative hell hole of chambery to that!!

Icy, I think you must have been unlucky with Geneva airport.

We've been through the airport lots of times in the last 6 years or so without any trouble. Saying that, we tend to get the first flight out from the UK (i.e. 6am) and then fly back late afternoon/early evening.

Trondheim airport was epic over half term! Hardly anyone there. No queues at all and we got to watch an Antonov come in and land which was fun.

Our return flight was 5.20pm

Think it was Geneva motor show - however, I imagine that wasn't a surprise to them!

I would keep hassling them for the return of the fee.
If they have no proof of an enquiry from the authorities then they have no sound basis to charge you. Make them work for their admin fee. As it stands they have come up with no proof of any request from the Police or authorities and you don't seem to have received a fine (may well never arrive as I don't think their is any reciprocal agreement for collecting speeding fines with Switzerland so the authority may not bother to send it) The arrival of a fine might just weaken your argument.
I would also take it up with the credit card company.

I asked for proof and was told "the info comes as a batch of requests so yours is in with everyone else"

Just pay it and stop moaning. It was your own fault anyway.
