I found Morzine is the best base if you want to reach all parts of PDS. You can get anywhere in under a couple of hours, but make sure you have plotted your way back.

95% of people say 'stay in morzine' ... if going to PDS do a little digging and stay in a different resort. People mostly stay in Morzine just because people stay in Morzine - Don't follow all the sheep

I'm not 95% of people, I'm me....................and I stand by my statement, having extensively explored the area. You appear to know best though! There are obviously many places to stay within PDS which can offer you great access to specific zones within the designated area. If you prefer the Swiss side of Alvoriaz then stay in Switzerland, but to explore the whole area Morzine is your best base in my humble opinion.

yep... there are 12 resorts to choose from... don't just go with the one 95% of people go to, that's all i'm sayin' didn;t say anything that I knew best... just making sure the OP considers all options and doesn't follow blindly based on lack of diverse opinion... surely that's not a bad thing
