It seems that the company involved are run by scallywags that have done this before.....I have been following the group on Twitter and FB and I'm behind them 100%.

I

I have quite a few years in the managing people business ..... and I would just like to hear a statement from the chalet company before I jump on the band wagon like the rest of you have

If you were under any illusion about the kind of company and director we are talking about then this should help clarify.
The email he sent the guys with regard to their dismissal.

---------------

To whom it may concern,

Sorry to all of you it has relevance to or for.

Joszef and Garie work too hard for all of you to abuse the privilege of manners, discipline and respect. Consider yourselves fortunate following your blatant abuse of company rules, that you are not fined and in a worse situation. I will be formally emailing you to release you from all activities, responsibilities and work with Skithe3v.

Ahidel and myself do not need to justify why or what we do to anyone and least of all you.

I will also outline why you have been released!!

Non compliance to
rubbish clearance
company privacy
uniform codes
budgetary constraints
abuse of chalet rules
false expenditure
guests paying for services not billed by us.
staff dining and sleeping over without authority
abuse of reberty village rules
Hygiene
abuse of company property
company vehicles used for personal time/transport
fragrant disrespect for our company, myself and wife.

Understand clearly we do not employ juniors and inexperienced people to listen to their excuses, moaning, reasoning and personality clashes as we do business as a lifestyle!!

I do not need advice from employees and indeed when hearing negativity, within my rights to exit you immediately from the resort and certainly our properties.

I hope you have good lives and remain healthy but I do not suffer fools gladly and some of you take me for that.

I am also happy to explain to each of individually why you have been let go by email not face to face as at present my patience for expense and staff BS is over the limit and it would not be fruitful for you.

My business runs firstly with bookings and administration and not running a kindergarten.

Joszef will clarify your position regarding board and lodging and a timely exit to carry on with your happy and fruitful lives.

We only hope the best for all.

For those of you with other jobs in place good luck and good fortune for those hunting but remember hard work second, smart work first, respect others and treat them as you wish to be treated please.

Yours sincerely

All that now seems to suggest to me is that the guy clearly had good reason to get rid of people, seeing as they (according to him) have been abusing privileges and not undertaking their duties.

like I said, no smoke without fire.

Are you suggesting that the guy is out of order for outlining the reasons why people have been dismissed????

Well, if I was the chalet owner/company director and I'd sacked workers for what I believed were wholly proper reasons and then this whole saga had blown up, I would have responded very quickly and very succinctly. The fact that there is no official word from the owner after several days does seem very odd.

As PR exercises go, this one is turning out to be a complete disaster.

Point well made bedrock.

Having read some of the stuff and looked over the operators website briefly I would probably fall on the side of the staff at the moment.

Doubt they were saints but the chalet operators silence smacks of "guilt" to me, certainly coupled with the remarks from staff earlier in the season being sacked.

The staff have released this on YouTube to give their side of the story.

Well, if he indeed had the reasons he's stated and had something to back up his accusations with he wouldn't sack them via email. And how about paying them wages? Though, given his bankruptcy history he's probably used to not paying his staff for the work they've done and making a living out of it.

My apologies. I hadn't realised this had happened to others before, or that the owner has a history of "difficulties".

They're certainly getting a lot of publicity now anyway.

If this was the 1st time it had happened to resort staff we might be surprised. There are plenty of Cowboy Outfits running their business on a shoestring.

I hope that there will be a general tightening up on local licensing in Alpine Resorts next winter, which will benefit workers, suppliers and customers.

As for the bloke at the top, he recruited them, so he needs to pay them for the hours they've done. Then he needs to give them notice, or money in lieu, in line with the law where their contracts were signed.

Exactly, if this were an isolated incident, there would be room for doubt.

I don't doubt that there might have been problems, but it is typical of this type of business person to not provide proper supervision of young employees. To have several chalets in the town and not to have a supervisor responsible for the operation, shows the lack of management and cost cutting. The fact that the more experienced couple who were not fired risked their positions to help speaks volumes.

What do you expect when your employees smell a rat?
because I'm so inclined .....
