I bought a pair of ALDI sallos before last season as a spare second pair.
Tried them on the first day of skiing and never looked back. I prefer them to my older Spyder sallos that cost many times more. They ALDIs are very comfortable, water- and windproof and functional.

The £250 very comfortsallos were hopeless, didn't even have decent pockets, which the Aldi sallos did. Also, the stitching looked weak on the spensive pair.

I conclude the Aldi design to be better.

I agree with Ian on the Dare to be quality, although that seems to have improved. Most of the Aldi gear is better than DTB.

Pockets on Jackets and Sallos need to be right for me. I always carry a camera, and most days carry a sketching pad/pencil. Occasionally a small w/c paint set.

Some jackets purport to be ski jackets, and don't have a pass pocket on the LH sleeve.

My lovely OH has decided I need a new pair of sallos, ( a surprise Christmas present). Given that my existing sallos are scarely worn, only 25 weeks skiing, i just deem that as total waste. I would rather spendmore on lift passes.

In spite of my protests, I attended today, five climbing/ski shops plus TK Max. Again, I encountered the £250 sallos, and they have the same poor design & manufacture features.

The main thing that struck me is that there were hardly any sallos on offer. The offer seemed to be 90% ski trousers ~ (I blame the influence of boarders!)

The best were the lowest cost in Mountain Warehouse, but only offered S,M,XXL!

I did see some well made jackets and trousers, but I think they must have been designed by a ballet dancer, no pockets to speak of.

Looks like my existing sallos are heading towards 30 weeks!
