Whilst I don't believe a single word of that, you wouldn't get me spending £250 on a pair of sallos either.Dave Mac wrote:Well, I have bought ski jacket and sallos from Aldi. Certainly the sallos lasted more than 20 weeks skiing, and still going strong. Even for you, that is unkind, and every word is true.
I don't buy expensive brands but then again I don't buy cheap..... I made that mistake with a pair of Dare2B sallos total rubbish.
It is all about buying at the right time of year you will get ski clothing deals from March through to September so you can still buy brands if you want at a discounted prices. But £250 for sallo's who ever pays that has too much money .... :!: :!:
Nothing unkind in what I said, and I repeat - I do not believe at all that Aldi ski sallos are as good in terms of quality and better in design than ones that supposedly cost £250.
As Ian says, its all about finding good quality gear at knock down prices.
To be fair, any pair of sallos should last for a seasons skiing, but your idea of lasting and other peoples may be quite different bearing in mind what you told us about your old jacket you said lasted for years but was covered in muck, beer, food, holes, etc etc.

The jacket was less succesful. I caught it, skiing too close to a tree, and the zip burst.

I didn't say all Aldi sallos.
The £250 sallos were hopeless, didn't even have decent pockets, which the Aldi sallos did. Also, the stitching looked weak on the spensive pair.
I conclude the Aldi design to be better.
I agree with Ian on the Dare to be quality, although that seems to have improved. Most of the Aldi gear is better than DTB.
Pockets on Jackets and Sallos need to be right for me. I always carry a camera, and most days carry a sketching pad/pencil. Occasionally a small w/c paint set.
Some jackets purport to be ski jackets, and don't have a pass pocket on the LH sleeve.
