Michael Schumacher's condition is reported to have deteriorated and is now being described as 'critical' following an accident whilst skiing in Meribel yesterday.
Initial reports yesterday indicated that he struck his head on a rock in a fall. He was apparently wearing a helmet and was conscious when help arrived.
Initially airlifted to Moutiers and then transferred to Grenoble hospital latest reports say he is a coma following brain surgery and his condition is now described as Critical.

Still awaiting results. During the race season, MS, and other F1 drivers, were, (for insurance reasons) not allowed to ski.

BBC say he has been moved to Grenoble, the accident happened as he was skiing between two pistes and he was the only one involved although skiing in a group. Injury described as 'serious but not life threatening' and that " The German is receiving the attention of Professor Gerard Saillant, a close ally and friend of Schumacher and his former Ferrari team boss Jean Todt."

BBC saying he's in a medically induced coma.
Doctors sound certain the impact would have killed him if he hadn't been wearing a helmet.
