I think I stopped for a drink and something to eat in this yellow coloured restaurant in Sportinia in Sauze more than any of the other restaurants.
The food tasted good, the staff were always nice to me, it was self-service so you didn't have to wait, it was cheap, and whenever I went in there I always found a spare table.
I usually had a vegetarian focaccia, with aubergine etc. which they made for me and toasted, and a hot chocolate (which is sort of like chocolate mousse in a cup) and together they only cost 7.50 euros and that was quite enough for lunch. I carried a bottle of tap water in my rucksack so with that as well I was fine :)

This photo is taken at the bottom of the Clotes piste and you can see how close the Sauze hotel is to the piste. It's the one with the balconies down a side road where the 2 cars are parked.

We used the Stella Alpena on the left which was always very good

Thanks Elovabloke. I think we tried to book with them. I'm fairly sure Felthorpe e-mailed them several times and they never replied :(

Maybe they don't take direct bookings?

That's a shame. They do direct and are aasily contacted on FB as well. Funny how people operate theses days.

I stayed in the Hotel Sauze once and it was the drabbest place ever. But that was in the 1970s! :)

There were several places who never replied to us both when we were trying to book for 2014 and 2015. In desperation I started e-mailing them in Italian as well (using Google Translate) and even went so far as to describe our group as sensible and mostly middle-aged (!). I wondered if they were afraid we'd be a wild stag party or something! ;)
