It's lovely and sunny here this morning :D
My next project is risking my life and helping my daughter learn to drive over Easter (she's having lessons as well).
It's extremely scary
Sort of like being tied to a beginner on the piste
I wonder how much it would cost to have my car converted to dual control :?:
What's next?

Probably cheaper just do disown your daughter
Well I certainly will if she hits anything!
Son ...
17th birthday !!!
20 mins in car - all going well - until a hedge jumped out in fromt of him !!
No damage except to pride
Mind you this is not our favourite subject.
Sold SAAB cabriolet - a lovely fun car in the summer to buy ancient Ford Focus with an engine no bigger than my lawnmower.
Theory test failed first try - he has not been in the driving seat of a car now since last October. Just given up on the whole learning to drive experience.
Big mistake.
Let her have lessons and leave it at that. She'll either irritate the hell out of you, or you'll irritate the hell out of her, and you'll teach her different things to those shes being taught by a paid professional.
You and I might think we're good drivers, but we are not qualified to teach our own bad habits.
Thanks for your concern Tony :D
So far, we seem to be getting on okay during our 'lessons'. Although sometimes it does go a bit like this .. " brake ...brake ... emergency brake!
And I had the standard of my driving checked out during a lesson I booked in Cardiff a couple of years ago (out of curiosity to see how many bad habits I had picked up over the years plus to gain a bit of a lesson in city driving). The instructor seemed quite impressed with my driving (my driving is much better than my ski-ing!) and was pleasantly surprised to see that I still use my rear mirror. I had 2 faults - the position of my hands on the steering wheel and going too close to cars in front when queueing at lights (apparently one is supposed to be able to see the tyres on the tarmac of the car in front).
So- let's hope for the best :D
She has 40 lessons booked with the driving school - price around £800
