Madonna di Campiglioi

Just booked a week skiing at Madonna in January. Any comments or advice from someone who has been there recently would be appreciated. I am a intermediate skier.

Was there 2 years ago on a day trip - fantastic scenery and relaxed skiing. Food and beer more expensive than other resorts around but we enjoyed our time and would go again - especially with the new links and expanded area.

I would certainly go over to Folgarida and Marilleva at least once - there used to be a little hut at the bottom of the red on the way over where you can pay to extend the lift pass for just one day.
We used to enjoy sitting outside the Swiss Bar for a bit of fur coat watching!

I have found better snow on the east side (flatter and more boarders) of the main road, and steeper runs on the west. As mentioned, stunning scenery. A day trip from Milao, so it will be more crowded on weekends, obviously.

Update. Had a terrific week in Madonna. For Intermediates lots of easier blues & reds with a few not so scary blacks. There had been no snow for a few weeks but low temperatures kept piste in great condition.
For an more upmarket resort food prices on the mountain very reasonable provided you avoid the more obviously expensive places. Lift Pass not cheap though. Good Terrain park for boarders.
Town itself mostly upmarket shops only.
Had a bus trip to nearby small resort of Pinzolo. This is a really nice little place with empty well groomed piste. A new gondola to link it with Madonna will be in place for next season.
Not a place to go if you want the nightlife.
That was not a concern for me soI would defintely go back.
