It's quite a nice resort. Conditions should be quite good up there at the moment. The area has more snow then the average for this time of year.
If you are heading up during the day the train journey is really scenic. The town itself is a little spread out but there is a bus service that easily gets you from each of the three access points to the mountain.
I've already been skiing on just the other side of the hill in Lenzerheide this year and below about 2100m the conditions were brilliant. Above that there was a lot of wind effect on the snow. This shouldn't be as bad in Arosa as its a bit more sheltered.
Enjoy it. I may very well be skiing in from Lenzerheide at some point if conditions stay as they are.

HI,
Don't know if you have seen it yet, here is a link to the resort web site and you should try to make arrangements for lessons before you go, sorry I have no recommendations: http://www.arosa.ch/sites/special_experiences/winter.html
It is generally always quite cold up there, other wise it's a very nice place and you will like it. Chur at the bottom of the valley is a very pleasant town with excellent shopping, just in case.
PS. for your next short ski trip have a look at Flumserberg or Pizol Bad-Ragaz about 1:30 hour by train from ZRH airport,

I've just had to cancel a trip to Arosa in January so I'm very jealous!
Pierre at the Private Ski School in Arosa is an excellent teacher - been skiing with him a few times. They have a good website - in English - and you can book through that I think. The office is close to the foot of the Tschuggen Ost chairlift and near the Vetter hotel.
Have a good time!
