Ok, so I am looking to purchase a new pair of skis for this season, having had confirmation of an insurance payout for the damage to my Neo's earlier this season, and will be looking to spend up to about £400 on a pair.

My last Neo's were fantastic to ski on, but I dont know if I should broaden my horizons and consider other options.

So, I am a reasonably experienced skier, and confident with it. I do spend most of my time on piste as Mrs H is not a huge fan of venturing off piste. However, I like to be able to get out in the powder without having to worry about my skis not being up to the job, and also be able to ski anywhere on the mountain if I can handle it.

My ideal length is 166-170, and I like a ski that feels strong and powerful, not an airy fairy light ski.

Who has got some suggestions for me, as I really have not looked at whats on the market this season?

(ps, note to Ross and his fat-boy friends - I do not want 100mm underfoot, thanks..... ))

Hi Tony_H it would appear your in the same category as me, i also am shopping for a new set of skis and have decided to purchase pair of Scott Crusades. Yes you budget wont stretch to buying you a new pair but there are some good deals on the 2010 mdel online which you can pick up for around £250/£400. I have done a lot of research over the last few months and it doesnt look like there are many skis out there that quite as much of a punch as these.

Hope this helps.

Tone,

spend yer 400 on a big pair of ****** **** off powder skis, stick another 300 quid in the cat (or under the matress if you prefer), we'll keep a close eye on the weather and I'll show you Engelberg for a long weekend.

Sorted.

No. I will however come see your apartment sometime though.

Now, any serious suggestions?

I am told the Volkl Kendo's and Rossi Zenith 82's are quite good....?????

Hi Tony,

Have you thought about getting a pair of Palmer's. The ones that Trencher uses are still available for under £400. You could carve your Sunday joint with a pair of those bad boys! )

Tony,

They are still selling these on Bargain Boards at £369 All mountain performance skis for intermediate/expert riders looking for that extra bit of power
Palmer's FLF Klothoid plus race-style construction know no limits when it comes to ripping these bad boys down the mountain. The core's titanium and Prepreg Sandwich construction give the Palmer P02 the strength of a high-end race ski that goes as fast and hard as you want to take it. Titanium is distinguished by its maximum torsional rigidity, optimal stability and unique precision. The result is tenacious edge grip on hard, icy slopes for carving smooth precise turns. This ski really hits the spot for expert skiers looking for ultimate agility and speed in any terrain while the FLF Klothoid shape helps make the intermediate ride like an expert

These ski's come with mounting plates, so you can easily slide on a pair of bindings without any specialist drilling or fitting. The binding plates are compatible with Tyrolia and Head bindings.*
Hope this helps
