i must have got a rubbish demo pair then or maybe they were due a good tune i dunno-sorry! I wish wed discussed it nearer the time because i remember thing when i tried them 'i must tell that guy on j2ski not to get the new neo!' if you like it and are comfortable and confident with it (and you dont want a specific offpiste ski) then its a no brainer-get it fixed!

I spent half a day on some Neo's and found they got deflected at the tips by crud. On groomed piste they were fine, just not what I was looking for, and for me, too thin to be a freeride ski, not stable enough to ski in big turns, and too fat to be a carver.

Tony liked his so much he took them to bed

Nordica Doberman Spitfire in a 170 cm. They are 14 m radius, 70mm or 72 mm under foot, rock solid on piste but you can go anywhere with them. An excellent ski for an advanced/ expert skier.

I noticed in your short list you noted Salomon Thruster 1080's.
I tested those last season and they're extremely light underfoot and very flexible, being a freestyle ski and all. Very good in the jib-factor.

I had quick skim through this thread and didn't come across anybody suggesting the Salomon Lord ski? Have you looked into those? Come in your desired lengths, very strong ski, twin tipped and it's been given the best ski rating the last 2 years I believe :) Don't own a pair myself but I certainly would buy a set.

Have you decided on a ski yet Tony?

I've opted for some 2009/10 Scott Neo's )
http://www.skibartlett.com/scott---neo-0809---156cm-176cm-was-374-3013-p.asp

Basically, I have had the old ones repaired to a level which means they are totally skiable, look ok, and are totally waterproof. At least, thats what the technician reckons. I have also added a coating of epoxy resin to make double and triple sure they dont get any water in the gap that had opened up.
So, I am going to ski them and see how they hold up. If its all ok, its a win win for me. However, if they dont, I have the cash in the bank for some new ones.

In a way, I am glad they have been repaired as they are the right ski for me.

Tony,

Glad to hear your Neo's have been repaired and hope they see you through the season however, I would place some money on the table that says you will have a new pair of skis come April 2011  Now back to business what about the Volki AC30 with Marker iPT wideride 12.0 bindings!
