Hi you will have a great time, ski areas of Zell am See and the one at Kaprun which includes the Kitzsteinhorn glacier at 3000 m+ there quite a view while you ski!

[Info not advertising please - Admin]

A hot chocolate in the Grand Hotel i would recommend and a walk across the lake at Zell am See if it freezes is quite novel. Apart from the obvious apres ski activities.

I feel sure you will have a fantastic time.

Derek

P.S. If you have the opportunity try the spas in Gastein Valley.
PPS. Spa-World-Kaprun is scheduled to open in November 2010, and at 85 million Euros will be worth coming back for!

Just got back from a week at Zell am See on Saturday and it was great! The snow was super and I know that they have had more snow this week. I have been there three times now and done ski school each time- I can't fault any of the instructors. They were all very good. The lake was almost frozen but not frozen enough to walk on! I can recommend Crazy Daisy's for pizza but the rest of our time we ate at our hotel (St Georg- highly recommend that too) If you want to do apres ski we went to the Diele Bar a couple of times which was good fun. Crazy Daisys, Flannigans and Greens are also pretty lively. But a bit difficult to dance when it is difficult to walk! You will love it! And I am not at all envious! Well maybe a little!

This lad I know just spent a week in Kaprun, and did some skiing in Zell am See while he was there - he said it was quality.

He also said that the view from the top '200 peaks' is excellent - on a good day you can see most of the Kaprun ski area from up there.

And while it's the opposite side of Kaprun from Zell the Kitzsteinhorn glacier is meant to be something else.

Went to Zell a few years back. Really enjoyed the skiing, thought there were some really nice runs. For me the apres ski was a bit flat, not in the league regarding liveliness of other Austrian resorts.
