Am looking for a place where people whe NEVER skied before can enjoy a week in the mountains.
Am looking for options for beginners and beautiful hiking trails.
Where shall i go?

Have to suggest Nendaz. If you go on to the tourist office's own website (www.nendaz.ch) you can connect to Télénendaz, the lift operator, and download a piste map. You can see the number of blue (easy)runs available in the Nendaz sector. There are also a lot of hiking trails for people equipped with snowshoes. And there are a number of ski schools in the resort who would be able to help with instruction.

Once you've got to grips with the basics, there are then several hundred kilometres of runs waiting for you to explore.

I realize you're trying to promote a business there but I've not been wildly impressed by the snowshoe trails around Nendaz or nearby. There's 3 or 4 marked trails and the terrain's not ideal for much more, that's really not a lot compared to many places, in total it's not more than 20km or so which isn't a lot at all. It's no worse than many other big name ski stations where non-ski activities are barely an afterthought though.

It doesn't really compete with places like Grindelwald, Kandersteg and so on for alpine charm or non ski activities.

It's got to be Arosa - perfect terrain for beginners and improvers. And there are loads and loads of marked walking trails in and around the ski area - with, I believe, a special lift pass for walkers. Beautiful scenery, loads of alpine charm, lots of other off-snow attractions.

I probably suggest Seefeld/Austria to any-one who is skiing for the first time. Also fantastic hiking trails and cleared walks for any ability.

I like Seefeld as well, a friend lives there so I go from time to time. One of the prettiest places in Austria I think and there's some stiff competition.

FWIW, having spent a week in Nendaz, I believe that the beginners skiing area is good, because it's up the mountain on a plateau surrounded by woods. Woods lined easy blues for beginners to build up skills. The town however is not pretty IMV. It's functional. I guess it's a little like Marmite.
