We plan to spend a week in Ortisei from 6th March.
Can anybody be so kind to share experience/observations/considerations concerned with the snow conditions for this period for Ortisei and maybe for all Val Gardena and Val di Fassa regions. :?:
Last year were in Madonna di Camp. - it was great. :P

Thank you in advance,
Alex

The Sella Ronda area has excellent snowmaking facilities to make up for the not hugely impressive snow record. It is certainly a beautiful place you have chosen to go to. Early March is often a good time to get fresh dumps of snow too. Fingers crossed for you. Its somewhere I am really keen to go to.

I was there late December. Stayed in Ortisei. Wrote a report here;

Had such a blast we going back to the Dolomites (Alta Pusteria) in 3 weeks - not that i am counting. I have been crying watching the webcams this week. Perfect blue ski and regular overnight snow - looks absolutely perfect and I am 1000kms away. Of course the 6th of March is a long way off so I suppose the snow might melt if they get a hot spell but at this stage you would have to think it should hang in there until March. I don't know - the more experienced ppl here should be able to advise.

From what I gather and saw, their "snow management" (I might have invented a new term there) is top-class. Snow cannons liberally used when we where there even though they already had heaps of snow, and piste preparation was simply outstanding.

Overall, I'd say that the odds this year are OK it will hold up until March. Where are you staying?

I am definitely going to get to Madonna this time. I can't wait, positively salivating already I am. Any tips?
