Saas Fee has a massive nursery area served by a number of drag lifts at the foot of the ski area. Ideal for all beginners.
However, the ski school used to have an annoying practice of not holding lessons on Sundays. So for absolute beginners that was a wasted day with lessons starting on Mondays. Worth checking.
Intermediates are spoilt for choice with loads of runs; my favourites are off the Plattjen gondola lift. Little queuing, quieter pistes, wide, open and fast.
The day trip to the smaller area of Saas Grund is also definitely worth doing.

Thanks we're not absolute beginners done about 7 days skiing but not having been here before would like to maximize time spent by planning ahead if possible.
So should we try Plattjen gondola on 1st day or nursery slopes?
Saas Grund also looks like a good idea
Thanks for help

Start on the nursery slopes - then when you're ready head for Platjen, which is to the left of the nursery area as you stand with your back to the village. (Saas Fee's skiing all comes back to the same area, just about).
There's a lot of cruising stuff all over the rest of the mountain, as well.

I think I would disagree about Platjen. That is a significant red run especially if conditions are icy. I woudld recommend a) the beginner Stafewald (no thru traffic) and b) Langfluh. My 16 yr old daughter who was on her second week of skiing loved Langfluh. It is a mile long, really wide, cruise - a genuine blue in a spectacular location (you can get the gonola back down). Mind you, you do have to go up the worlds longest T-bar but it is worth it. Great place to practice carving too.

Would agree with the Saas Grud suggestion for intermediate level. On the blue run you ski right alongside the Glacier wall.
