Just wondering if anyone knows if snowboard hire places in Mayrhofen cater for 6 foot 4 tall guys with size 12 to 13 UK feet?

Last year when I went boarding in France the guy from the shop had to bring in his own off piste board from home and let me use that as all the hire boards in the shop weren't wide enough and my toes hung over the front edge by about 50mm.

I'm booked in for 7 days from the 26th of December and don't want to be caught up the mountain without a board.

Just having a quick look on www.ski-rental.co.uk and they allow you to specify your shoe size when booking online so guess you could do this and then assume that they'll have the right board/boots in for you?

Think they deal with Manni's though which Tony H has indicated weren't that great when dealing with him but that was for skis etc. Can't be more help sorry!
I decided to have a life change and be more spontaneous. Starting tomorrow.

You could buy Burton, or Palmer riser plates to take with you. These go under the bindings, and will raise your boots up a bit, to help with boot out. If the rental shop won't put them on, you can very easily do it yourself.

Not all snowboard boots are the same length for a given foot size. It may be an idea to buy the boots with the shortest sole length in your size. Also make sure you are in the smallest boot size that is comfortable. Good footbeds can shorten up the length of your foot in a boot, which may allow you to go down one size.

If all else fails, you might need to change your stance to very duck, or both feet pointing forward.

Can I suggest you contact Uli Spiess or his colleagues at Skizone?
Uli is a top man, and his staff are as helpful as I have come across. He also has his shop in the base of the Penkenbahn, so a great place to drop gear off and collect in the morning.

Uli was the first ski racer to make the Val Gardena camel bumps without jumping all 3, ie he glided in the air further than anyone had dared before. He is a bit of a legend in Mayrhofen, and also runs the Happy End apres ski bar opposite the Penkenbahn.
