Ok, any advice please......
Where to go as a single skier, I am 50, but young at heart and enjoy my apres ski (I think the Austrians have that one worked out best.) So far I have been to Flachau/Wagrain, but would like to try a new place. Ski wise, not into huge amounts of off-piste now, but enjoy challenging runs. Ski, stop have beer, move on, lunch, that sort of thing as well. All ideas appreciated - travel in early March. )

St Anton if you can would be my advice, lots of challenging skiing to be had, lots of good mountain bars, good apres ski and very picturesque village. The snow in March (historically) is very good.

I'll throw Mayrhofen into the ring. I know its a fave of mine, but I know several people who have been there as singles and found the slightly more relaxed atmosphere to be perfect for chatting and mixing with other people.
Good ski area too, lots to go at, challenging in the main with some steep reds. Good outer areas to get to by train/bus too.
Nightlife is fun and lively off the slopes, with the IceBar next to the Penken Gondola for the loud music and table dancing, and Happy End directly opposite for a chilled chat with great people who run the place.
Go down the hill to Coupe and Moore for a more upmarket feel but again nice atmosphere. The Schlussel under the Brucke Hotel on the bridge is always lively late on too.
Nowhere is intrusive however if you want some peace.
Cheap accommodation available, and often good late package deals too.
I have been to St Anton and found it brilliant, but significantly more expensive both for the holiday and the drinks.
Both would be superb though.

skimac,
niederau for the singleton. been going there for 21 years as a single, nearly your age and it's the one place where i can walk in to a bar unchallenged or where people don't think me 'odd' for sitting alone, or for engaging people in conversation. L.
