Hi,all,

We are planning to try Austria skiing this upcoming season. I was looking at some places and found out that there are a lot of draglifts everywhere. I do not feel comfortable riding these, have bad shoulder. Besides, my dauther is just soon to be 5. She is a good skier; yes I know that it may sound strange, but she is confident on intermediate trails and I do not want to keep her in the beginner area. However, I do not think she can handle draglifts yet.
So can you recommend any ski areas, where it is easy to avoid such lifts and still have good time skiing. We are not looking for sometning fancy with nigthlife.

Thanks

Mayrhofen, if you find a drag lift, I wanna know about it!!!! ;)

Seriously, there are a couple somewhere but you can do the whole range in many ways without using one.

a historic mis-conception possibly spread by those who have only been there once a long time ago  Seriously though there are about 3 i can think of on Penken and you would only use them sparingly with the ski school, the rest of the lifts are fast modern chairs
I would have got away with it if it wasn't for those pesky kids!

I have found that most of the lift in Austria are more modern than any I have been on in France and as freezywater says there are the odd few were the ski schools are

I saw a t-bar in Bad Gastein and thats the only one i've ever seen! I'd recommend the OP to go anywhere in the Ski Amade, short transfers and modern lifts!
Zauchensee is a place i particularly want to visit and i would suggest it would potentially be great for the OP!
